Bloody Pit of Rod HORROR EXPRESS (1972)

8/10 A first class ticket of horror !!! Coventry 22 December 2003 Pardon my enthusiasm but Horror Express really is a must see for all fans of classic horror. It simply is one of the best horror movies made in the seventies and I can't think of many aspects about it that are negative. First of all it stars Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

Horror Express was made after its producer brought up the model train left over from the big-budget production of Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) and decided to write a film around it. In exactly the spirit it was conceived, Horror Express proves highly entertaining. The lines come tongue-in-cheek - when Julio Pena asks Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, "What if one of you is the monster?"

Horror Express (1972)

It looks good enough for the short time it is on screen. The creature's decayed look, both when frozen and while roaming the train cars, would be considered grotesque in 1972. However, it is still passable in the present day. His menace is established right away, but a short scene with sleeping children emphasizes it.
